<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A Milk bath maternity shoot is very popular &#8211; and it&#8217;s not hard to see why. The images look great, aren&#8217;t difficult to do, even shy &#8216;mums&#8217; can relax in milky warm water for the entire shoot and not worry about exposing more than they want.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The logistics of the shoot &#8211; the size of the bathroom, size of bath, fresh or fake flowers, how much milk, what to wear &#8211; may take a bit longer to work out or deal with, but at the end of the day &#8211; none are unsurmountable.. including tiny bathrooms.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="768" height="1024" src="https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232390-768x1024.jpg" alt="relaxing in a warm milky bath" class="wp-image-4499" srcset="https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232390-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232390-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232390-800x1067.jpg 800w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232390.jpg 1050w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Costume and Head Gear</h5>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The subject of our milk bath maternity shoot shoot &#8216;Jess&#8217; was around 33 weeks in the shots. She provided her own costume and headgear and came along with a bag of roses from her garden.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Tips for the shoot</h5>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We part filled the tub with warm water and added 6 litres of full cream milk the scattered the rose petals and a couple of flowers before our <a href="https://www.thebump.com/a/best-maternity-photos" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mumma</a> climbed in. It helps to have a second shooter there to stir the petals back to where you want them while shooting.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="768" height="1024" src="https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232377-768x1024.jpg" alt="Tiny bathroom, but I stood on the bath at the end - one foot either side" class="wp-image-4500" srcset="https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232377-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232377-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232377-800x1067.jpg 800w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232377.jpg 1050w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>Tiny bathroom, but I stood on the bath at the end &#8211; one foot either side</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The recommendations are for around four litres of milk, but we wanted a nice, creamy milky bath. For us, six litres of milk was perfect. When choosing real vs fake flowers &#8211; bear in mind fake ones tend to sink while real ones float. If using fake, try spraying them on the bottom with Scotchguard first and they will stay afloat a bit longer.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="734" height="1024" src="https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232378-734x1024.jpg" alt="Standing on the end of the bath to shoot down" class="wp-image-4501" srcset="https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232378-734x1024.jpg 734w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232378-215x300.jpg 215w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232378-768x1071.jpg 768w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232378-800x1116.jpg 800w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232378.jpg 1004w" sizes="(max-width: 734px) 100vw, 734px" /><figcaption>Standing on the end of the bath to shoot down</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The bathroom was reasonably bright with daylight coming in the long window and no extra lighting was required</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="768" height="1024" src="https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232374-768x1024.jpg" alt="milk bath shoot" class="wp-image-4502" srcset="https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232374-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232374-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232374-800x1067.jpg 800w, https://www.bevleaross.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/P1232374.jpg 1050w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It was definitely a fun shoot &#8211; and not hard to do. If you have ever considered doing one &#8211; go for it!</p>
